PRP Hair Restoration

Men start to lose their hair at an earlier age than women, but androgenetic alopecia — also called male-pattern and female-pattern hair loss — ultimately affects up to half of all men and women. Emaile G. Shenouda, MD, at The Image Center has extensive experience performing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) hair restoration, which effectively boosts hair growth and slows down hair loss.

PRP Hair Restoration Q & A

Along with red blood cells and white blood cells, your blood naturally contains platelets. Platelets clot your blood to stop the bleeding when you’re injured, but they do more than that — they’re also essential for healing.

Platelets are rich sources of proteins called growth factors. When you’re injured or develop a disease, platelets go to the damaged tissues and trigger the production of blood vessels, skin, collagen, muscles, and any other tissues needed to heal the damage.

PRP is blood plasma with a high concentration of platelets. Dr. Emaile produces PRP in the office by drawing a sample of your blood, then processing it in a centrifuge that separates the platelets from other blood components. The platelets are mixed with your plasma to create the PRP used during hair restoration.

For PRP to be effective, it must get below the skin’s surface and into the hair follicles. For very small areas of hair loss, it could be injected, but Dr. Emaile typically uses microneedling.

Microneedling is frequently done as a cosmetic procedure to strengthen and tighten skin. However, it’s also an efficient way to introduce PRP into your hair follicles.

To perform microneedling, the doctor uses a medical device containing numerous very fine needles to make small punctures in the balding areas of your scalp. Then he applies your PRP over the treated area. The wounds allow the platelets to penetrate deep into the hair follicle, where they do their normal job and stimulate healing.

As the platelets go to work in your hair follicles, they promote hair regrowth. In addition to stimulating hair growth, the growth factors in PRP help to boost the number of new hairs that grow and slow down hair loss. Treatment with PRP also increases overall hair thickness.

Most patients need more than one PRP treatment to restore their hair. After assessing your scalp, Dr. Emaile develops a plan and lets you know the number of treatments you’ll receive. Once your hair regrowth is established, you may need ongoing maintenance treatments.

Coaching and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) both share a fundamental purpose: to help people live happier and more fulfilling lives. Many people are interested in merging the two.

yoga & REIKI Q & A

NLP is a course in it’s own right, but you will also find it used in so many other courses as well. Everything from coaching, body language, public speaking, train the trainer and many other personal development courses.

Here is only a glimpse at what NLP can help you with as it is probably the number one personal development training that every person can benefit from.

Are you a business owner, manager, sales person, coach, psychologist, doctor, parent, teacher, student or somebody that works with others?

Are you interest in finding ways to improve your communication with yourself and other people?
Want to learn how to get the most from others in business, therapy or in your personal life?
Want to learn how to get rid of your own, limiting beliefs and other things holding you back?
Want to increase your confidence?
Want to create success in various areas of your life?
Want to learn how to learn and retain information better?

There is so much more NLP can do, but first, let’s understand a bit more of how it works.

Time Line Therapy (TLT) is a powerful therapeutic process that has evolved from hypnosis and NLP, developed by Tad James, PhD in the 1980s. It was developed by applying a therapeutic process to the concept that we store our memories in a linear manner in an internal memory storage system.

TLT provides one of the most powerful processes and techniques for personal change and growth by facilitating the elimination of the painful emotions attached to memories or events in the past. TLT also focuses on what we can learn from those events and use what we learn as a resource for the future. Time Line Therapy™ techniques and practical processes produce long-lasting transformation much quicker than what is currently called “brief therapy”, with a minimum of discomfort to the client. Some examples of painful emotions include anger, rage, sadness, hurt, regret, fear, guilt, and remorse.

TLT also enables you to clear limiting beliefs that can leave you stuck in the past and stops you from creating what you want in your life. Both unwanted negative emotions and limiting beliefs influence every area of our lives.

Imagine getting a new IPhone and you have never seen one in your life before. Mobile phones can do all sorts of wonderful things that most people don’t ever use. This is because they don’t understand the instructions or maybe did not even bother to read them. You can get by on a phone if all you going to is send text messages and make phone calls.

Let’s say it was a new IPad and again you have never used an Apple device. You may just connect to the internet and read email, or play games. Fine if that was all you wanted to do, but it would be such a waste when you can achieve so much more with these devices. They can be fabulous tools for both your business and everyday life. So it would be useful to read the user manual. NLP is like a user manual that empowers you to use all the features and functions of “you.”

When you were born, your brain came without an instruction manual. We get influenced by people throughout our lives, our parents, friends and others. These can be positive or negative influences. This means we can get “programmed” by what goes on around us. Having this user manual to understand how the brain works and how to get the results you want, would then be really useful. Unlike a mobile phone, you can’t ask your 13 year old child to set it up for you.

NLP can help in all areas of your business coaching and personal life. Example with negative emotions, limiting decisions, phobias, bad habits, communication skills etc. to get the change and results you want. These results can often be achieved in a very short amount of time. In NLP we are more concerned with how people do “a problem” and to overcome it, rather than why and wanting to analyse it. You see analyzing the problem, only serves to prolonging the “problem.”

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming and comes from:

Neuro: “The study of the mind and nervous system (how we think), through which our experience is processed, how we re-present the outside world to ourselves via our five senses:”

  • Visual
  • Auditory
  • Kinaesthetic
  • Olfactory
  • Gustatory

Linguistic: “The study of language and how we use it. Language and other non-verbal communication systems through which our neural representations are coded, ordered and given meaning.” Includes:

  • Pictures
  • Sounds
  • Feelings
  • Tastes
  • Smells
  • Words (Self Talk)

Programming: “The sequence of our actions, how we motivate ourselves to achieve our goals. The ability to discover and utilize the programs that we run (our communication to ourselves and others) in our neurological systems to achieve our specific and desired outcomes.”

NLP was originally created in the 1970’s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, who studied experts in their own fields to understand how they achieved their phenomenal results. People like Virginia Satir, a renowned family therapist and Milton Erickson, a very accomplished hypnotherapist, who practiced for 60 years. Using the techniques they learned, they found that you could help other people make positive changes in their lives.

Richard Bandler defined NLP as:

“An attitude and mythology that leaves behind a trail of techniques.” Through modelling this “excellence” by taking on the values, beliefs, behaviors and mental sequencing in people who are “excellent” in what they do, so that you can teach others and use their ways yourself. Thus, NLP is how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes.
